The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.

The Name of the Rose is one of most intellectually challenging books I’ve ever read. It is a historical fiction with different layers and deeper meanings embedded into each layer. It is an intellectual exercise which at times may seem like an incessant toil. It is a baffling assortment of ideas on literature, logic, theology, the meaning of knowledge, and many more things that I probably missed or failed to understand. It was overall an enjoyable but exhausting experience.
