The Friday 56

The Friday 56 is a bookish meme hosted by Freda’s Voice.

My sentence comes from one of my all time favourites, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Here Nelly describes Heathcliff’s eyes to him,

“Do you mark those two lines between your eyes; and those thick brows, that, instead of rising arched, sink in the middle; and that couple of black fiends, so deeply buried, who never open their windows boldly, but lurk glinting under them, like devil’s spies?”

    1. Thanks for visiting!

I love Wuthering Heights. It is a true classic. Today Wuthering Heights is regarded as a mere love story but in its day it was path-breaking work.
