Today’s sentence comes from Agatha Christie’s Evil Under the Sun.
“It was Mr. Blatt’s apparent ambition to be the life and soul of any place he happened to be in…He was puzzled at the way people seemed to melt and disappear when he himself arrived on the scene.”
Oh, I love Agatha, and this sound like one that I cannot remember reading, time to fix that. Thanks.
I love Agatha Christie too! Evil Under the Sun is one of my favourites by her. re-read it last year and though it was as good as ever.
I wonder what he arrived to see. A murder?
Thanks for participating!
You’re welcome!
No, not a murder. People disappeared because Mr. Blatt tends to be a bit of an over enthusiastic with his socialization. They were avoiding him but he sadly failed to get the hint. 😉
