This week’s Booking Through Thursday asks:
“What’s the first book that you ever read more than once? (I’m assuming there’s at least one.) What book have you read the most times? And–how many?”
For as long as I can remember I have been re-reading. Books were short on supply and my demand was high. I remember reading my first four illustrated fairytales (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Thumbelina and Goldilocks & the Three Bears) repeatedly every afternoon for a long time. Then the fairy tale collections got thicker. Russian Fairy Tales got a thorough re-reading! I think these were the books that I’ve re-read the most.
As an adult I think I have re-read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen the most. Five times at the last count. Agatha Christie’s Cards on the Table comes a close second with four.
Agatha Christie is always good for a reread! Here’s mine: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/07/booking-through-thursday-repeats.html
Agatha Christie’s books are my favourites for a re-read! There is something so comforting about them.
Cards on the Table is one of hers that I haven’t yet read. Looks like I best add it to my list. My sister’s favourite book growing up was Cinderella while I loved horse stories.
Here’s my BTT.
Cards on the Table is undoubtedly my favourite Poirot novel! A must read for all Christie fans in my opinion.
My favourite fairytale was Sleeping Beauty and later on The Twelve Dancing Princesses.
