This week’s Musing Mondays from Should Be Reading asks…
“This week’s musing asks…
What is the one (or maybe two) qualities a book must have for you to pass it along to your best friend as a “must-read”?“
I myself love books with strong, especially female, characters and a good, solid believable or at least relatable story. I’d happily recommend a book that has these qualities. Also, if there is something in that story that really moves me or something that makes me sit up and take notice I might be tempted to pass it on to another reader.

I love a strong, female character. For me, I must be able to connect or relate to a character for me to truly love the book.
Here’s my Musing
Hey there! So glad to have you with us!
A strong female character can often lead to a book becoming one of my favourites. One of my all time favourite books, Pride and Prejudice, has been my favourite precisely for that reason.
The characters definately have to be believable!

Yes totally unrelatable or unbelievable characters are always a downer.
believable is very, very important to me.
the characters have to act like real people act…smart real people.
I totally agree with you!
Believable is very important to me too. Even when I am reading a fantasy the human emotions should be there and the story should relate to me on some level. I guess that’s why I love the Harry Potter series of books. Even though they are set in a world different from our own, we all can relate to Harry’s journey.
And yes also they should act like smart people. Stupidity really bugs me. I am often particularly angered by female characters of the wilting wallflowers variety.
