Today’s sentence comes from The Diary of a Nobody by George Grossmith.
“I followed, and met Farmerson, who immediately said, in his loud voice: ‘Oh, are you the one who went down?’
I answered with an indignant look.”
I laughed just a little. I’ve been there!
Oh yes it has happened to me and it wasn’t pleasant. I am a shy person by nature and hate the idea of being in the public eye. Doing something foolish in public is one of my worst nightmares. And if someone points it out that’s the worst.
Hmm .. who’s indignant?
here’s mine 🙂

Mr. Pooter the protagonist of The Diary of a Nobody. He spends most of the book looking or feeling indignant or outraged.
That does sound like an insult. It must have been quite the incident to cause such a statement.
It is an insult but then Mr. Pooter is use to them anyway.
Went down where?
Here’s my Friday: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2011/10/friday-memes_28.html
On the dance floor. Everyone not only laughs at him but they also tell him how he is ‘too old’ to dance. The Diary of a Nobody is full of these incidents where poor Mr. Pooter is the butt of everyone’s jokes. They are pretty funny but I felt sorry for him
Hmm, now I’m wondering how he “went down”? Curious….
Here’s MY FRIDAY MEMES POST and
MY WEBSITE
The poor guy went down like a log on the dance floor in full view of everyone in the room and people will not let it go. Why do embarrassing things always happen when one is the most anxious to be their best?
