Booking Through Thursday : Category

This week’s Booking Through Thursday asks:

“Of the books you own, what’s the biggest category/genre?

Is this also the category that you actually read the most?”

That’s easy! It’s definitely mystery. I own every Miss Marple book, most of the Hercule Poirot books and many of the non-series mysteries by Agatha Christie, the entire Sherlock Holmes collection by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the entire Father Brown collection by G.K. Chesterton and many more by authors like John Dickson Carr, Ngaio Marsh; etc.

Yes, this is the category That I actually read the most. I am always on the lookout for more mystery treats for me to sink my teeth into!

  1. I think I’m fairly evenly distributed among most genres so it would be hard to say what I have the most of. My collection probably leans most heavily towards non-fiction and reference books with emphasis on books about religion, history, writing, and self-help. As far as fiction it’s heavy on literary fiction and classics although I do have quite a few science fiction and mystery/suspense books. I’ve got a lot of books.

  2. I love cozy mysteries too. I’m gradually collecting all of Agatha Christie’s books, although I’m not sure yet if I prefer Poirot or Marple.

My BTT post is here if you’d like a look 🙂
