This week’s Musing Mondays from Should Be Reading asks…
“This week’s musing asks…
How far along are you in your current read before you start thinking about what you’ll read next?“
Oh it depends, I guess. If I am really loving the book than I don’t start to think about the next read until the last few pages. If I am too engrossed, sometimes I totally forget about it.
If it’s just about an okay read than I start thinking about the next read about halfway through the book.
And if I am utterly bored or baffled by my current read, then of course, I can’t wait to get out of the present book and into a new one!
Now that I am participating in various challenges I find myself thinking more and more about my next read before I finish the present one as I keep thinking of all the challenges I need to finish.
I don’t do challenges or agree to do review so I can read what I want when I want. For me it would quite being fun if I do either of those.
I love being spontaneous too. Doing challenges kind of takes away that. But on the bright side it makes me read books I have been neglecting for way too long and I get to meet so many interesting fellow readers. 🙂
I tend to plan ahead….but sometimes plans change.
Here’s MY MUSING MONDAY POST – and here’s
MY WEBSITE
I am very bad at planning ahead. I almost never plan. The reading challenges have made me a little more disciplined, I guess but I still love to be spontaneous.
Yeah it depends on what I’m reading at the moment. Here’s my Musing
Happy reading!

Yes. Engrossing reads have a way of making me forget about everything else but so-so reads often distract me.
I can’t seem to comment on your blog. A recurring problem with Blogger. 😦
Great answer – I am the exact same way! There are so many good books coming out this year alone, so it’s tough to stay focused on what I’m currently reading, without looking forward to the next one. 🙂

So true! I sometimes have a hard time staying focused on my current read too (like right now!).
Good answer. 🙂
