This Tuesday’s Tune: “Nature Boy” by Nat King Cole
I love Nat King Cole’s voice! I love most of his songs but there is something special about ‘Nature Boy’. The haunting tune creates an atmosphere of melancholy from the very beginning. And then there are the amazingly poignant lyrics. The last two lines especially move me. Nature Boy, a song I loved from the moment I heard it for the first time.

How have I not heard this version of the song? Gah! His voice is so good! Can’t go wrong with a little Nat King Cole. 🙂

I personally think this is the best version of Nature Boy. Cole’s voice is impeccable and the strains of the violin never fails to give me the chills. Perfect! 🙂
I got into some Nat King Cole while taking a Jazz class. My favorite still has to be Billie Holiday though. Great choice!

Classic song from a classic artist. I can remember watching Nat on TV when I was a kid. He was a well respected singer. The instrumental break in this version is beautiful.

So lucky that you got to see him on TV as a kid! He was one of the first African Americans to host a television variety show. A true pioneer.
