Tune in Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Ginger at GReads that showcases music. It helps bring attention to new and/or old songs or artists.
This Tuesday’s Tune: “In the Morning ” by The Coral
‘In the Morning’ by The Coral is a fun peppy songs with some really bizzare lyrics. I don’t know for instance what the following lines mean,
“Thought I was sleeping, it was just a dream
An ally cat chewing on dead leaves…”
Or these lines,
“She wrote my name on a red telephone box
When I got there she’d already rubbed it off…”
Whatever the song may mean it sure sounds fun. I fell in love with the song from the very first time I listened to it and I haven’t stopped loving it ever since. This one never gets boring.

Oh my word, I LOVE this song! I first heard it on the soundtrack to Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. It’s just so much fun! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!!

I love it too! I didn’t know about it being a part of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. Thanks for the info!
Man, this song is like an after-school special! I love it even if it makes no sense.

Hehe, love it and yes I am bopping along. The lyrics are kinda weird… I’m not sure exactly what it means either.
I don’t think I’ve heard of this band before either… but I do like music that makes me want to dance around the room. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome.
I wonder if anyone asked The Coral to ever explain the lyrics to this song and if so what did they say?
This is one of those songs I can’t help but bop my head along to. And I’ll happily sing along with it even though the lyrics are a wee bit odd. 😀
I can never get bored of this song. And of course I have to sing along with it especially through the weird bits. 🙂
