Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
“ ‘But, oh, those poor little foreign children that she’s going to governess!’ whispered Phyllis. , ‘I wouldn’t be them for anything!’ ”
~ ~ P.16, “The Railway Children” by E. Nesbit.
I remember seeing that book before, but have never read it. Teaser sounds great. I will have to check it out. Here’s My TT
Thanks! The Railway Children is a classic. Hope you like it when you do get to check it out.
I remember reading that a long time ago. I loved it then and would probably love it today. Here is my teaser:
Glad to know you loved it! I am always trying to catch up on children’s classics I missed on as a child. The Railway Children is just one in a long line of children’s classics I’ve on my TBR list. 🙂
After reading your teaser, I looked this book up on Amazon. It was first published in 1906! How amazing that the book is still being read.
Here’s my teaser: Sandy’s Teaser
I just love reading Classics! I am always reading books published in olden times.1906 is nothing. It is relatively modern. Most of my reads come from before that time. 😉
This does sound like a good one…and that tone in her voice….
Thanks for sharing.
Here’s MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
Little children despairing over little things that seem like the end of the world. The Railway Children is full of them! 🙂
Love that teaser! I so need to check this one out – it sounds great! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Hi! Thanks for dropping by my blog!
