This week’s Musing Mondays from Should Be Reading asks…
“This week’s musing asks…
Other than working at a job, what is your biggest interruption to reading? What takes you away from your book(s)? “
Other than my job it’s mainly ‘human interaction’ that takes me away from my books. Unnecessary chit chats with colleagues/neighbours about things we already know (your health, family’s health, my health, today’s weather, the morning traffic), going to social gatherings even when I don’t want to, trying to sooth disgruntled friends over the phone (I didn’t forget your birthday. I swear I didn’t. What do you mean it’s not your birthday?) ; etc, etc, takes up a lot of my free time. Downside of living in the human society you see. 😉
For the past year my blog has been another thing eating up my reading time. writing reviews of the books I have read, replying to comments on my blog and visiting the blogs of the people who have visited my blog takes up a surprisingly big chunk of my time. But then I love doing all that so no complains!
I spend time doing some of the same things. I love visiting and seeing what others are reading and doing. Here is my post. MM
I love visiting blogs that are similar to mine, meaning that the bloggers read my kind of books! I get so many great recommendations from them that it makes it all worthwhile. 🙂
I really like your answer! I don’t think I’ve ever considered how much time I spend blogging and responding.
Thanks! Even though I like blogging it is a pretty time consuming task.
My blog is also quite a distraction, but I also love doing it so much 🙂

Love Rie x
I love blogging too even though like you I would probably get more reading done if I didn’t spend all this time writing about books! 🙂
LOL, yes, chit chat can really cut into reading time.

Yup especially everyday mundane chit chats. To me these seem longer than they are.
darn people, they want this, they want that..lol
Ah true! The never ending demands of people! 😉
Yes blogging is important and takes up a lot of time. Anything with having to do with the internet does. It’s addictive. Here’s my Musing
Thanks,

Hello! Thanks for visiting my blog! Sorry couldn’t comment on your blog as I’m still having issues with Blogger hosted blogs with OpenID and Word verification.
You do so many things and still manage to read so much! I feel quite ashamed of not reading more, being the unmarried, non-mom that I am. 😉
I LOVE your answer! Family and blogging is a big one for me too – thank you for sharing! 🙂

Thanks, Amy!
Loved your musing too! I am not married and don’t have any kids so I can’t even imagine what having a toddler and a home to manage would do to my reading. Hats off to moms!
Blogging takes up so much of my time too! It is a time eater! It’s funny that I actually read more BEFORE I started blogging! Ah wellll!

Oh yes before starting my blog I never knew it took up so much time. The pressure to write reviews is another problem. For me, it kind of stops the flow of reading.
