Teaser Tuesdays (May 15)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read

• Open to a random page

• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

 My Teaser:

“He looked so timid and nervous as he fidgeted incessantly with a piece of string; his long, lean, and trembling fingers tying and untying it into knots of wonderful and complicated proportions.”

    1. I have only read Orczy’s mysteries but not her most famous work The Scarlet Pimpernel. Swashbucklers are not really my style. I have read about half a dozen of them and have loved only one, Under the Red Robe, all the others have been a bust. But I would like to try out The Scarlet Pimpernel because I like Orczy’s style.

I read The Shadow of the Wind last year and liked it though I did find some parts rather dull.

    1. Oh yes doesn’t The Old Man in the Corner sound intriguing? The said old man (his name isn’t revealed till the very end) is an interesting character, a man totally obsessed with unsolved crimes.
