This Tuesday’s Tune: “Gone Daddy Gone  by Violent Femmes

Gone Daddy Gone is a song I discovered recently and I am hooked! The song has got such a raw feel to it and such weirdly wonderful use of the xylophone! Great that it popped up on my playlist!

Now I need to hear more by the Violent Femmes. This underrated 80’s band was way ahead of their time in my opinion.

  1. Oh my word, I totally forgot about that song! The video is so weird… but that’s really kind of their thing, isn’t it? lol Thanks very much!

  2. Haven’t heard this song in ages. The Femmes were one of my favorite groups back in the late 80s/early 90s. I saw them in concert in 1992 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. So much energy from such a simple assemblage of 3 musicians with no elaborate lighting or special effects. The crowd was super into the whole concert.
