Musing Mondays (June 4)

This week’s Musing Mondays from Should Be Reading asks…

“This week’s musing asks…

Do you have a reading goal for the year, such as __ books? Why or why not?

I don’t really have a reading goal per se but I do try to read at least one book every week. This takes my total up to something like 50 or 52 books. I used to be able to read 70+ books every year as a student but ever since I have started working my reading pace has considerably slowed down. Before as soon as I got my hands on a new book, I would devour it. Nowadays I spend time grading papers  while longingly looking at my current read lying near me!

  1. I like keeping track of what I read but I don’t pressure myself to read a certain # of books. Plus, my teaching load has changed quite a bit in the past couple of years so that changes my reading time.

    1. I do keep a record of what I have read and what I am going to read. I do have a tendency to make lists and take stock of stuff. I don’t just do this in reading. I do this in other areas of life as well. Otherwise I feel overwhelmed. 🙂
