Musing Mondays (June 11)

This week’s Musing Mondays from Should Be Reading asks…

“This week’s musing asks…

What is the longest book you have ever read? How long did it take you to read it?

The Lord of the Rings complete trilogy on paperback is technically the longest book I have ever read but that’s three books in one so it’s not applicable.

The longest single book I have ever read is either The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett or David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. I think it’s The Pillars of the Earth. This historical epic spanning more than fifty years and covering three generations was a true chunkster.

Amazingly I finished The Pillars of the Earth in just three days, not because I loved the book but because I had an important exam coming up and wanted to get the book out of the way.

Bleak House, one of my current reads, may turn out to be my longest book yet.
