Booking Through Thursday: First Teacher

This week’s Booking Through Thursday asks:

“Who taught you to read?

It was my mom. My memory is kind of hazy because I learned to read kind of early. But I do remember my mom reading really colourful fairytale books to me. There were four among them that I really loved, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Thumbelina. I would make her read those again and again. As far as I remember it is from those books that I first became familiar with the different alphabets, words, their pronunciations; etc. Soon I was reading on my own.

  1. Oh! that is such a sweet story. Cinderella was my favorite fairy tales, and to this day, if I notice a book based on the Cinderella story I think I have to read it. I love a ‘they lived happily ever after’ ending.
