Today’s Quotes are about happiness or lack thereof.
* And still I stood looking at the house, thinking how happy I should be if I lived there with her, and knowing that I never was happy with her, but always miserable. ~ Charles Dickens from Great Expectations
* It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace. ~ Chuck Palahniuk from Diary
* Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know. ~ Ernest Hemingway from The Garden of Eden
That last one hits home with me. 🙂
True.
Love, love your quotes. Each one is wonderful. Never heard of the book Diary.
Thanks! I had never heard of Diary before either.
I always have loved that Hemingway quote, so morose I had to chuckle and think just how far down a scotch bottle he was, or was he a whiskey man LOL Love it! I think you beat Freda! Here is mineQuote it Saturday post!
BTW this is the funnest meme! I get to make pretties!
Yeah I love the Hemingway quote too. Hemingway himself was pretty unhappy, assuming from the fact that he killed himself.
