Tune in Tuesday My Teen Years Special Edition: What were you listening to when you were a teenager? We all come from different decades, with different tunes.  For this month, please pick some of your favorite songs that bring you back to those glorious teenage years!

This Tuesday’s Tune: “Wake Me Up When September Ends  by Green Day

Wake Me Up When September Ends is my favourite from Green Day’s seminal album American Idiot. 2004 was a year of change for me. Wake Me Up When September Ends really felt like a manifestation of my melancholia. And also the video! I absolutely loved it! For a teen, nothing cuts deeper than a doomed love affair.

  1. This song has a different meaning for me… when I first heard it, I related it to losing my mom during the month of Sept. in 2003. The words, “wake me up when Sept. ends” was so poignant that next year b/c it was the anniversary & I just didn’t want to relive that every Sept. Of course now, almost 9 yrs later I feel differently about it. But this song will always bring me back to that memory.
