The Friday 56 is a bookish meme hosted by Freda’s Voice.
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56.
*Find any sentence that grabs you.
*Post it.

Today’s sentence comes from Aslauga’s Knight by Fredrich de la Motte-Fouque. As there is no page 56 I have decided to use page 16 as a substitute. Hope that’s alright.
“ ‘To the wood, fair maiden,’ he whispered, as soon as he had landed Hildegardis on the shore; ‘there conceal yourself, whilst I endeavour to prevent the landing of the robbers.’ ”
Sounds like some action is coming!
Yes but the heroine’s ‘faintings’ hinders a lot of it. Fair maidens sure were delicate!
This sounds exciting! I like it 🙂
